Primary Years
ISLA offers a distinctive educational experience combining academic excellence with free learning. We provide a British curriculum for children aged 3 to 11.
Academics
Core Subjects. At ISLA we are very serious about the core subjects. The curriculum is organised into learning objectives and organised across the academic year for core subjects: English, Spanish, Maths and Science.
For each learning objective there is a weekly plan available through our online platform with related resources to facilitate students to learn both in person and have everything organised online.
Foundation Subjects. History, Art & Design, PSHE and Geography are organised into project work and taught throughout the year.

Life Skills
We consider essential that children receive a set of life skills beyond those taught in academic subjects. For this reason, we are regularly including additional subjects to the learning programme such as Bushcrafting, Gardening, Painting, Constructing, Nutrition, Mindfulness, Business economics and Critical thinking, enriching the learning experience for our students.

Our approuch
Want to know HOW we do it? At ISLA we use a cross-curricular approach to learning, connecting purpose to skills. In doing this, we encourage independent learners, critical thinkers and team players. We make mental health and physical well-being our top priority. At ISLA we offer alternative education.
The Method
We take academics seriously, particularly in core subjects such as English, Spanish, Mathematics, and Science. Our curriculum ensures that students develop a strong foundation in these areas using evidence-based teaching methods.
We create individual learning plans for each student, ensuring that children with high abilities, special educational needs, or those who have never received formal education are fully supported. By working closely with parents, we ensure that every child receives the right guidance to thrive and progress at their own pace.
For other foundational subjects, we emphasise learning through projects. This approach allows students to explore topics in depth, make meaningful connections across subjects, and develop essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
We believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Every day, our students spend time outdoors, whether through sports, nature exploration, or hands-on environmental studies. This daily outdoor learning promotes physical health, sportsmanship, an appreciation for the natural world, and mental well-being—a key priority at ISLA.
